Landlords positive of capital grow in the next 12months

November 1, 2009

Recent surveys suggest the majority of UK landlords are expecting capital growth over the next 12months. Landlords who have suffered a challenging time over the past 2 years have enjoyed some positive news, with the Nationwide data showing the first year on year rise for the previous 12 months. The data showed that UK house prices have showed a positive rise of 2% in the last 12 months. The landlord?s survey conducted by paragon mortgages also showed that 14% of landlords surveyed expected to expand their portfolios over the next year. There is also evidence that residential rents are increasing as many reluctant landlords have taken advantage of the recent sellers market and sold unwanted properties. This has reduced the supply of rental property forcing residential rents up.
