Building Regulations are set standards that apply to building work in England and Wales. As long as your plans comply with the Buildings Regulations you will recieve a notice within a few weeks that they have been approved. However if your local athority is not satisfied you may be asked to provide more detials or make some amendments. All in all it is a very simple process and is for the health and saftey or yourself and people using the building your planning on altering. Once you have Buildings Regulations approval for your building plans the notice is valid for three years.
